Much-Anticipated New Site At East Harling Launched Four Months Ahead Of Show House Launch, To Meet The Demand For Quality Housing In The Area

Abel Homes has responded to very high demand for its new site in East Harling by releasing the first new homes – four months before it opens the show home on the site.

Eleven two-, three- and four-bedroom houses will be released this weekend, the first of 85 new energy-efficient homes which will eventually be built on the site, between Kenninghall Road and Quidenham Road, just to the east of the village centre.  The new site has been named ‘Three Squirrels’.

So many people have registered interest in the site that the Norfolk-based builder decided to release the first phase of new homes as soon as they were ready, rather than waiting for the completion of the show home.

All of the new homes are being built to a very high specification of energy-efficiency, with solar photovoltaic panels, triple glazing and underfloor heating to the ground floor.  Each new home will boast an EPC rating of ‘A’ – the most energy-efficient band.

In the second half of 2022, the last period for which figures are available, just 3% of new homes built in England were ‘A’ rated for energy efficiency.

The new homes will also come with fitted appliances, car charging point, garages with electric doors, BT fibre broadband to the premises and floor coverings included throughout.

“There has been huge interest from potential buyers in our East Harling site, so we took the unusual decision to release the first new home before the show home was opened,” said Clare Cornish, sales manager at Abel Homes.

“East Harling is justifiably a very sought-after place to live, with a vibrant sense of community, good access to the A11, and lovely countryside all round the village.”

As part of the development, Abel Homes will create a public open space on the site, and has also made a commitment to provide a piece of public artwork on every site where it builds homes.

The new homes will be released this weekend with prices ranging from £270,000 to £525,000.  More details can be found at www.abelhomes.co.uk.  For further information, contact Clare Cornish at Abel Homes on 01953 884486, or Whittley Parish, selling agents, on 01953 711839.
