Norfolk House Builder To Reopen Sales Offices On Friday

Bawdeswell Street View Plot 25 30 500

Following the government announcement of plans to restart the housing market, Norfolk-based house builder Abel Homes will reopen its sales offices on Friday (15th May) – with social distancing and safety protocols in place in line with government guidelines.

House buyers will be able to view show homes on the basis of one customer group (from the same household) at a time, and will be asked to wear gloves to avoid cross-contamination.  The firm’s show homes will undergo frequent deep cleaning to ensure good hygiene.

The Watton-based firm restarted construction work on its sites this week, working at a reduced capacity and with new procedures in place to comply with new government guidelines on Covid-19.

Sales offices will reopen at Abel Homes’ sites at Swaffham, Watton and Bawdeswell.  Viewings will also be available by appointment at the one remaining home at its exclusive ‘Five’ development at Gressenhall.

Work has also restarted at the firm’s new site at Taverham, which is due to be launched towards the end of 2020.

“It is clear that the government is keen for the housing market to start moving again, within the context of social distancing,” said Paul LeGrice, managing director at Abel Homes.

“We have a number of customers who have reserved new homes and who are keen to move into them, so the news that moving house is once again possible with necessary protocols in place is excellent news.  We also have a significant number of people who had expressed an interest in our sites before lockdown was imposed and during the lockdown via our website.

“Restarting the housing market will be a boost for local contractors, and for the local economy more widely.”
