Swans Nest Development Swaffham

We have recently announced plans to build 82 new family homes in Swaffham.

A detailed planning application has been submitted for the new homes on the Swan’s Nest site on Brandon Road on the south of the town - the first phase of a 28 acre site which already has outline planning permission for 250 new homes.

Abel Homes, is proposing a mixture of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, including detached and semi-detached houses, and bungalows.  Just over a quarter of the new homes will be allocated as affordable homes.

The house builder is proposing to create just over 5,000 square metres of public open space as part of the development, including a large play area.

The site is close to the Nicholas Hamond Academy and Swaffham Leisure Centre.

Tony Abel, managing director of Abel Homes, said, “We are delighted to be putting forward these proposals to build much-needed new homes in Swaffham.  “My family has been part of the community in the town for many years, which means we are able to understand the real local housing needs.

“There is a pressing need for good quality, affordable family homes in Swaffham.  Our proposals will help meet that need, as well as creating a really attractive new community in the south of the town.”

The detailed planning consent has been submitted to Breckland Council.  Depending on the progress of the application, Abel Homes expects to start work on the site towards the end of the year.
