Abel Homes Site Manager Wins 10th NHBC Award | Norfolk
We're proud to share that one of our site managers has been recognised as among the best in the UK, winning a prestigious "Pride in the Job" Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) — for the tenth year running.
Tim Walsingham, our senior site manager at The Carriages development in Dereham, will now go forward to the NHBC's "Seal of Excellence" Awards, an accolade he has also won for the last eight years in a row. In 2025 he was named Best Site Manager across the whole of East Anglia and the East Midlands, narrowly missing out on the overall national title. This is the eleventh Pride in the Job award Tim has received.
Tim joined us in 1999 as a digger driver and is currently overseeing a site where 216 new homes are being built.
A mark of quality across our Norfolk developments
Our managing director, Paul LeGrice, said: "The Pride in the Job Awards are nationally recognised as one of the most prestigious accolades a site manager can win; to do so ten times in a row, and eleven times in all, is a huge achievement, and testament to Tim's expertise and commitment to quality.
"It is not an exaggeration to say that winning this award so many times means he can be regarded as one of the very best site managers in Britain.
"The quality of our site managers is such an important factor in delivering the highest standards across all our new home developments, and reflects a genuine customer service ethos that runs through everything we do."
That commitment to quality runs through the homes we build. Every home we build is EPC A-rated — the most energy efficient band — with solar PV owned outright by the buyer, air source heating, triple glazing and smart EV charging as standard. We're currently building energy efficient new homes across Norfolk at The Carriages in Dereham, Cygnet Rise in Swaffham and Three Squirrels in East Harling.
About the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards
The Pride in the Job Award is given following a "Michelin Guide"-style inspection by an NHBC assessor, who judges site managers against 38 strict criteria including workmanship, leadership, technical expertise, the ability to turn the designer's intentions into reality, health and safety standards, and a commitment to raising standards. The scheme has run for more than 40 years.
More details about the awards can be found at nhbc.co.uk. To find out more about us and the energy efficient new homes we build across Norfolk, explore our developments or request a brochure.
