A Norfolk house builder has launched the second phase of a hugely successful site in East Harling – which has already seen 85 energy-efficient family homes delivered.

Abel Homes has released the first nine three- and four-bedroom homes at its Three Squirrels site between Kenninghall Road and Quidenham Road just to the east of the village, with prices ranging from £415,000 to £560,000.

The second phase of the development will comprise 17 new homes, of which 12 will be bungalows, a type of home which has seen high demand on the site; five of the initial homes released are bungalows.

The new homes all have the top ‘A’ rating for energy efficiency and include features such as air source heat pumps, photo-voltaic solar panels, underfloor heating, triple glazing and high levels of insulation.

They also come with fitted ‘A’ rate appliances, air source heat pumps, electric car charging points, garages with electric doors, BT fibre broadband to the premises, and floor coverings included throughout.

“Our Three Squirrels site at East Harling has proven to be very popular, with the first phase selling very quickly,” said Clare Cornish, sales and marketing manager at Abel Homes.

“We have experienced considerable demand at East Harling for single-level living, which is why two thirds of the new homes on Phase 2 will be bungalows.

“There has already been considerable interest in the second phase of our Three Squirrels site, and we are expecting this first release of new homes to be snapped up quickly.”

As part of the development, Abel Homes has created a public open space on the site, and in September the firm unveiled a piece of artwork comprising three Caithness stone pillars carved by Norfolk stonemason Teucer Wilson, as part of its commitment to provide a piece of public artwork on every site where it builds homes.
